LLPH announced the following leadership points after the passage of the Veterans Affairs and Military Construction Appropriations FY 2015. Leadership points are awarded when members show leadership through proposing amendments or standing up to the establishment. Every 10 Leadership points gets a representative 1 extra credit point on our 100 point Congressional Scorecard for 2014.
Here are the points:
Rothfus (R-PA) – Amendment No. 5 – Prohibits funds from being from being used to award performance awards for employees of the Senior Executive Services. Amendment passed by voice vote. (Rothfus-1 LP awarded; Cutting Spending and demanding accountability).
Gosar (R-AZ) – Prohibits funds from being used to create or maintain any patient record-keeping system other than those currently approved by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs Central Office in Washington, D.C. Amendment passed by voice vote. (Gosar-1 LP awarded; reducing big government).
Farenthold (R-TX) – Prohibits funds from being used to pay the salary of any officer or employee of the Federal Government who is held in contempt of Congress. Amendment failed due to a point of order. (Farenthold-1 LP awarded; demanding accountability).
