#LLPH Leadership Points Announced; Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2015 #TCOT #WeWantCutsNow

LLPH will be giving leadership points to representatives who propose spending cut/conservative rider amendments. For every 10 leadership points are representative earns, he/she will be given 1 point added to their overall average on LLPH’s Congressional Scorecard.

Here are amendments we are supporting on the Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2015 and the sponsors will be receiving 1 point for each amendment:

Farenthold (TX): Prohibits funding for the compensation of any officer or employee of the Federal Government while they are held in contempt of Congress. (Farenthold- +1)

Wenstrup (OH): Prohibits funding for the delivery of printed copies of the Daily Calendar of the United States House of Representatives to member offices, as this document is accessible online. (Wenstrup-+1)

Gosar (AZ): Reduces the amount provided for the Botanic Garden to the fiscal year 2014 level and transfers the funds to the spending reduction account-$3,166,946. (Gosar- +1)

Gosar (AZ): Prohibits funds in the Act from being used to commission or otherwise pay for an official portrait of any individual. (Gosar- +1)

Gosar (AZ): Reduces the amount provided for the Open World Leadership Trust Fund program by $3.42 million and transfers the funds to the spending reduction account. (Gosar-+1)

Gosar (AZ) and Jones (NC): Prohibits any funds in this Act from being used to pay for first-class travel for members of Congress and employees within the Legislative Branch. (Gosar- +1 , Jones-+1)

Broun (GA): Reduces the funding for the Office of Compliance by $91,000, returning it to FY14 levels. (Broun-+1)

Broun (GA): Reduces the funding for the Botanic Garden by $3,166,946, returning it to FY14 levels. (Broun-+1)

Broun (GA): Reduces the funding for the Capitol Visitor Center by $243,000, returning it to FY14 levels. (Broun-+1)

Duffy (WI): Maintains Botanic Garden funding at FY2014 levels. (Duffy-+1)

Duffy (WI): Maintains Library of Congress funding at FY2014 levels. (Duffy-+1) 

Duffy (WI): Defunds the Open World Leadership Center Trust Fund. (Duffy-+1)

Problems with Legislative Branch Appropriations Act, 2015:

The Appropriations Committee is trying to increase spending for the Botanic Gardens, the Capitol Visitor Center, the Office of Compliance, and the Library of Congress just to name a few.
