#LLPH #House Key Vote: “YES” on #IRS Reform Bill (H.R. 3865)! #TCOT #MakeDCListen

Back in the summer of 2013, disturbing reports were released about the IRS targeting tea party and conservative organizations. The IRS is now attempting to make small reforms that will NOT truly make any reforms. H.R. 3865 will improve the agency by preventing the IRS for one year from implementing regulations that hurts organizations. We look forward to one day fully reforming or even eliminating the IRS, but this bill is truly a step in the right direction.

LLPH urges a strong YES vote on H.R. 3865 – Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by the IRS Act of 2014 (Subject to a Rule) (Sponsored by Rep. Dave Camp / Ways and Means Committee).

60 Conservative Groups wrote a letter in support of this bill: http://d7.freedomworks.org.s3.amazonaws.com/CL%202014-02-25%20-%20Pass%20Camp%20IRS%20Bill.pdf

Our allies at Freedomworks wrote in support of the bill:

H.R. 3865, the Stop Targeting of Political Beliefs by the IRS Act of 2014. Sponsored by Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), this bill would stop the IRS – for one year – from finalizing a proposed regulation that would stop 501(c)4 non-profit groups from exercising nearly any political speech during an election year. This bill would basically silence many Tea Party, 9/12, and other grassroots liberty groups. For more on what the proposed regulation would do to inhibit political free speech, read Julie Borowski’s article HERE. FreedomWorks strongly supports this legislation.

LLPH urges a YES vote on the bill and we will likely score it in our 2014 Scorecard which is used to present LLPH’s Defender of Liberty Awards.
