1. Whitefield (R-KY) – Prohibits funds under Renewable Energy, Energy Reliability, and Efficiency from being used for wind energy programs.
LLPH Response: YES. Government shouldn’t be picking winners and losers and we strongly support this amendment which would save money.
2. Fleming (R-LA) – Prohibits funds from being used for officer and employee salaries to implement the green energy loan program from the 2009 Stimulus Bill.
LLPH Response: YES. The 2009 stimulus bill was a failure and the government doesn’t have a good record on green energy loan programs…just look at Solyndra.
3. Speier (D-CA) – Reduces Fossil Energy Research and Development by $30 million.
LLPH Response: Lean yes…we don’t know where the money goes to, but we presume debt reduction. We will have to check on this amendment, but we are leaning in support of it. We do wish that Democrats would be more consistent in their opposition to energy programs funded by the federal government, instead of picking winners and losers.
Chabot (R-OH) – Eliminates funding for the Appalachian Regional Commission, Delta Regional Authority, Denali Commission, Northern Border Regional Commission, and Southeast Crescent Regional Commission.—Saves $90 Million!
LLPH Response: STRONG YES. The government needs to eliminate wasteful and expensive programs…not just cut…ELIMINATE. This amendment does that and we urge a strong yes vote.
