LLPH Vote Review: Using American Dollars for American Purposes

Nobody denies that some foreign aid may be used for good purposes, but with hundreds of Americans going hungry and our infrastructure crumbling, one has to wonder why we continue to send foreign aid to countries that burn our flag and cannot even protect our embassies with the money we provide them (examples: Egypt and Libya).

Senator Rand Paul presented an amendment to the Senate Budget Resolution that would have cut foreign aid (allowing the State Department to decide where to cut) and transfer that money to build and repair infrastructure in America. The amendment would also cut a portion of the unconstitutional Department of Energy budget.

Only 26 Republican senators supported this amendment out of the 45 Republican senators. And what happened to all of those “non-interventionist Democrats”?
