Once again, the GOP leadership pushed forward with a good bill and then made changes that made it completely unacceptable to LLPH values and standards.
The Full Faith and Credit Act was suppose to be simply a bill that listed the priorities, but the GOP leadership decided to add a provision that would allow America to take on more debt for those priorities. This is shameful.
GOP leadership knows that there is enough money to fund our priorities, but they make an allowance that will be abused and they will regret it. The Democrats voted for it because they don’t want to prioritize.
Unfortunately, LLPH has scored this vote negatively, meaning that the Democrats will receive a positive mark. But their scores are so pathetic anyway that it won’t matter. To LLPH followers, just don’t be fooled and think the Democrats did something heroic by voting no.
Here is the roll call vote: http://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/113-2013/h142
(Only 8 Republicans voted no-2 of them were clearly on our side: Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI 3) and Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY 4). Thank you to these fine leaders!)
