Every few months, LLPH will produce an update on what is happening in Congress. We will produce 4-5 Parts to each update: The Dr. Franklin House Honor Roll, the Jim Demint Senate Honor Roll and Commendations, Reagan-Goldwater House Commendations, and 2 Updates on what happened in Washington D.C. and what we can expect in the months ahead in relations to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
So first, the Dr. Benjamin Franklin House Honor Roll. Dr. Franklin signed major documents that established our nation including the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. He was a fiscal conservative being noted as saying, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” (Note: He NEVER said, “A penny taken from the people is a penny earned.”) He strongly supported liberty saying that those who would rather have safety over liberty deserve and will get neither. And he respected all human life, becoming a strong abolitionist and freeing his slaves after the American Revolution. Therefore, it is fitting that we name this award in his honor for those legislators who have shown respect for the Constitution and for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness:

We thank these members of congress for voting for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Please note that all grades are cumulative meaning that we will continue adding to the scores until the end of the year. So there is still time to improve and keep fighting for freedom! We hope all members will work hard to decrease our debt, stop wasteful programs, defend life, and stop unconstitutional power grabs by the federal government.
