LLPH applauds Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) for voting against raising the debt ceiling without any spending cuts. We also applaud him for taking to the floor his case for the need to end wasteful departments that are duplicative and make no sense.
Here is a short statement from his press release:
With Congress looking to raise the debt ceiling and borrow from future generations, just what programs are taxpayers paying for and how effectively do they provide beneficial returns for the American people? Dr. Coburn outlines, line-by-line, how duplicative federal programs produce little measurable benefit for the American people, and instead only benefit the lawmakers that form them and the people who administer them. Just what are we paying for? For our duplication nation, the devil is in the details.
LLPH completely agrees and looks forward to Senator Dr. Coburn’s work to end this wasteful spending.
