LLPH thanks Senator Cornyn (R-TX) for opposing the 3-month increase to the debt ceiling that did not include spending cuts. The problem with Washington D.C. is that they always say “we will get to spending cuts later”, but the fact is that they never do.
Here is Senator Cornyn’s statement from a press release:
“President Obama’s failed tax-and-spend agenda continues to sink us deeper and deeper in the red and he does not deserve another blank check to spend Texans’ hard earned money.
“I remain committed to implementing the spending cuts and structural entitlement reforms needed to secure the long-term fiscal integrity of our country. The time to act is now.”
We agree…NOW…NOW…NOW! Any future increases without true spending cuts will be scored on LLPH’s scorecard which is used to figure out which leaders in congress support Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness and which do not (we did not score this vote due to the “no budget, no pay component”—we only made it an extra credit vote).
