LLPH congratulates and thanks Rep. Roger Williams (R-TX 25) on starting in the right way by fighting for fiscal sanity and opposing raising the debt ceiling without spending cuts. For too many years, the motto in Washington D.C. has been “we’ll get to spending cuts later” and this has to be stopped.
Here is Rep. Williams’ statement:
Today, U.S. Congressman Roger Williams (R-TX) released the following statement after voting against a House-passed bill to suspend the debt ceiling through May 19th.
“Ever since this President took office, our nation’s debt has skyrocketed. In fact, his reckless spending spree has necessitated a $5 trillion increase in the debt limit in the last four years. This has got to stop. The government should approach its fiscal problems the same way as American families and small businesses – by making the tough choices now and reducing expenses. Let’s address the real problem harming our economy: spending.”
Simple words but a strong and clear meaning. We thank Rep. Williams and encourage him to keep up the good work.
